Report

On friday the kids slept from 8am to 10:30am and I decided to head to the craft room. I want to make some gifts for friends, so I started working on them. It took me 2 hours to make 4 cards and a case to hold the cards. This is what I ended up with. Hopefully I will be able to make 2 more cards and some envelopes to go with this kit THIS WEEK.

Sleep Deprived

I don't know what was up with the kids last night but they couldn't sleep after both of them got up for the third time (4am) I put on a movie thinking that they would fall asleep. Boy was I wrong, but I fell asleep and the kids destroyed the living room. But the good thing now is that they are asleep and I have some peace and quiet. So maybe I will be able to get some crafting done that I have had the good intentions of doing for quite some time. Check back tonight for pics of my handywork.

Cards!

Here are some of the cards my mother and I made on Thursday. I have got to advertise better!
Anyways most of them came out cute. There were two that were ok but not great(sorry I am not posting those). Stay tuned for my latest pages, hopefully I will be able to finish them tomarrow. I am actually going to have pictures on the workshop pages this month.

Oh I have finally figured out how to get good pics of my cards. I have a scanner, duh HEIDI.

Digi

Just after I started my blog I decided I wanted to design my own backgrounds and add a unique touch to my blogs. The coolest site I found for FREE software is Shabby Princess. My background for my personal blog is made with their newest FREEBIE. Here is layout I did today with the "Happy Go Lucky" pack. It has a great western theme to it.

$5 Thursdays

The other day my mother mentioned that she needs a stash of cards and needs to use up her supply of scrapbooking paper. So I am going to have a $5 Thursday every month. You bring the paper(from your stash) you would like to use, adhesive of your choice, paper cutter, and tools(if you like). I will supply blank cards, scrap paper, and the card patterns. You are welcome to use my scrapbooking tools, stamps and stamppads.

My first $5 Thursday will be next week on April 9th. The party will run from 6pm to 9pm, so come when you can.

Look for coming details on my April workshop.

Craft Room

The other day I was cleaning my craft/office room and I happened to read Jullie's blog about how she was painting and organizing her office and her daughters room. I had been thinking about painting my room for awhile now and I took inspiration in her work.

My scrapbooking table was full of scrapbooking supplies, so much that I barely have room to scrapbook. So I gave my husband a big task of making an organizer for all my scrapbooking stuff (to get it off the table where I can access everything without making a mess). And my husband came through to my suprise and I didn't even have to wait one week. I guess it helps that he has nothing better to do.

The white walls have been bugging me since we moved in. So I decided to paint the room. Ty insisted the office had to be green. He read somewhere that the color green influences your thoughts towards money. So I painted it green(a better green than my living room).

Here is the finished project.

Hopefully it will stay this clean and organized.

Late February Workshop

Here are my cards for my February Workshop. I kind of got behind when my husband was gone and now I am just catching up. Hope you enjoy. All use the That's Amore paper pack, I added some tulip CS to one card. Sorry these are so small, I tried uploading them to photobucket a zillion times because they kept showing up huge. Now that they are small I am going to stick with the ones I have.

Notes on progress

Today I recieved a box from CTMH. It contained the ingredients for my next workshop. I can't wait to start working on these. I have to come up with some cards for the workshop so look forward to seeing pics of these cards.

On another note yesterday I was able to crochet 2 flowers. It took me awhile to figure out the pattern directions. After I sorted everything out Kaia was able to wear 1 to church. The one turned out pretty well.

I am also closer to finishing Kaia's purple dress. I have to put the zipper in and hem the skirt and slip. And then I get to start on her Cinderella dress.

February Project

I guess it is time to say what my February project will be. I have yet to finish my January project but it is on the way, I just have to put the zipper in and finish the hem. Hopefully the dress will be finished by the end of the week. I am 2 weeks behind on my scrapbooking but I should be caught up with that this week as well, I am trying to finish a scrapbook I started over 1 year ago all I have to do is add titles and some embellishments to the pages.
So anyway my February Project is:

I have yet to find any clients, so I am putting this here if any of you know anyone looking for a bookkeeper in the Star Valley area. I graduated 4 years ago with a BBA in accounting and have Quickbooks 2008 for my recordkeeping. Please e-mail me for further information, simplescraps@yahoo.com. I will greatly appreciate your referals.

1 more page

Last night I was able to work on my 6x6 acrylic album thanks to my husband. He watched the kids while I scrapbooked. Here is the finished page. Maybe I'll be able to get more than one page done in a night next time. This is not the best pic.

January Workshop

Here are the picks for the workshop I am doing tonight. I used the Workshops on the Go--Aspen packet. I changed the base pages for the alternate pages to deseret sand from bamboo. Hopefully I will be able to get pics on them soon. I am going to add some pictures of our trip to Island Park to the first set and our recent sledding activities to the second set.

This past Thursday I went to my grandmother's and she taught me how to crochet. So I have completed one month of my project resolution. Yesterday I put my knowledge to work and finished a headband.

Goals for 2009

I have been inspired by my dear friend Jena to make some scrapbooking goals for 2009.

1- My first goal is to finish 2 pages a week for a total of 104. I am so far behind on my scrapbooking that maybe this will put a dent in it.

2- As part of this goal I am going to add pictures to the 40+ pages I have finished that I made for workshops and never adorned with pictures.

3- I am going to finish one project a month--January is sewing Kaia a dress and learning to crochet. Check back to see what the projects are in the coming months.

4- Start selling homemade items.

Getting back to work!

Last night some of my family came over and we had a scrapbooking night. We had a lot of fun and got some scrapbooking done. I worked on some thank you cards for everyone that helped us in December. I used the Aspen paper pack, bamboo twill ribbon, chocolate cardstock, feathery flakes stamp set, and sparkles. Now I just need to get them in the mail.

I made the next card for a friend in Kansas. I do not know quite who to thank for the snowman idea, but it is not my original idea. I have seen it on many craft blogs.

I finally started the 6x6 acrylic album I bought about 3 months ago. I finished one page last night. I used rub-ons, liquid glass, dazzling die cuts, and the Good Times L2 paper pack. Stay tuned for the rest to come.
