New Projects

My husband was extremely loving this past weekend. Which I am very grateful for.

Last week I told him I needed a day off, totally away from the kids, to get things done. Well he took them to IF on Saturday, and I had the time to do what I wanted.

So this is what I accomplished:

I cut out a couple of aprons I have been meaning to make for 2 years.

Then I decided that my high chair cover needed a makeover. It is only 12+ years old and I would like to just throw the cover in the wash.

So first I made the piping. 1st time and it was a piece of cake thanks to some help on the internet.

Then I sewed the front of the cover together. This is as far as I have gotten. I need to run to the store and pick up some thread to match.

Hope you enjoy! Hopefully the finished products will be posted soon.

Books

Trying to tackle my latest project has been a pain. If I had a little more time to do crafty things and my husband were around more maybe it would be done.

I am trying to organize the kids room. We got a bunk bed for Christmas, so that leaves a little more room than the twin bed and toddler bed we had in there before. And my kids have gotten hoards of toys and dress-up that really need to have a place to go.

My first buy was drawers from Walmart to put the small toys in.

The next thing I wanted to control was the books. We love books. My kids love to go to sleep reading books. This has led to one destroyed library book because it ended up under Ben as he sleep and well he doesn't well pull-ups anymore.

And so this is what I've made.

I got the idea out of a Family Fun magazine(I {heart} their crafty ideas). Theirs didn't involve sewing, but I thought it would probably last longer if it was sewn(especially w/ my 3 kiddos).

It wasn't that cheap either but I am happy because I made them. The brackets themselves cost $5 a piece, so $20 total. The fabric was free because I have some and my mother has a stash.

Report

On friday the kids slept from 8am to 10:30am and I decided to head to the craft room. I want to make some gifts for friends, so I started working on them. It took me 2 hours to make 4 cards and a case to hold the cards. This is what I ended up with. Hopefully I will be able to make 2 more cards and some envelopes to go with this kit THIS WEEK.

Sleep Deprived

I don't know what was up with the kids last night but they couldn't sleep after both of them got up for the third time (4am) I put on a movie thinking that they would fall asleep. Boy was I wrong, but I fell asleep and the kids destroyed the living room. But the good thing now is that they are asleep and I have some peace and quiet. So maybe I will be able to get some crafting done that I have had the good intentions of doing for quite some time. Check back tonight for pics of my handywork.

April Workshop!

This month we are doing the Emporium workshop. These first pages are the ones we will be making at the workshop. The cards will be a surprise.

The next pages we won't complete at the workshop but you will receive the directions for them and can complete them with the leftover paper from the workshop.

Cards!

Here are some of the cards my mother and I made on Thursday. I have got to advertise better!
Anyways most of them came out cute. There were two that were ok but not great(sorry I am not posting those). Stay tuned for my latest pages, hopefully I will be able to finish them tomarrow. I am actually going to have pictures on the workshop pages this month.

Oh I have finally figured out how to get good pics of my cards. I have a scanner, duh HEIDI.

Kaia even got in on the act. She made some beautiful cards. I'll have to find her cards and post them later.

Digi

Just after I started my blog I decided I wanted to design my own backgrounds and add a unique touch to my blogs. The coolest site I found for FREE software is Shabby Princess. My background for my personal blog is made with their newest FREEBIE. Here is layout I did today with the "Happy Go Lucky" pack. It has a great western theme to it.
